Why Work Here

Above industry pay. 100% of your tips. Your shifts, your call.

i.

Above industry-standard pay

Servers and bartenders earn well above restaurant floor rates. Chefs can earn up to $500 per shift on premium events. Real money for real craft.

ii.

Keep every tip

No pooled tip-out to a house. No mandatory split. Whatever the guest hands you or adds to the bill — it's yours, every time.

iii.

You choose your shifts

Pick the events that fit your life. No line work, no double-shifts, no 2am close. Work the nights you choose and pass on the ones you don't.

iv.

Multi-night ski packages

Week-long bookings in Vail, Aspen, Park City, Jackson. Same client, consecutive nights, serious earning stretches.

v.

Premium clientele

Private dinners, corporate retreats, luxury events. Homes and villas that expect — and pay for — the very best.

vi.

35+ markets, four states

Colorado · Arizona · Utah · Wyoming. Work your home market — or travel for multi-night packages when you want to.

What Events Look Like

All-inclusive execution. You do the craft. We handle the rest.

4–20 guests

Private Dinners

Multi-course tasting menus in a client's home. Typical event runs 4–6 hours including setup, service, and breakdown.

3–7 nights

Ski Week Packages

Multi-night bookings in Vail, Aspen, Park City, Jackson. Same household, consecutive nights, serious earning stretches.

10–40 guests

Corporate Retreats

Executive offsites, team dinners, board functions. Clean execution, polished service, confidential environment.

Scaled

Luxury Catering

Larger private events with full staff. Chefs, servers, and bartenders working as a team under a clear event brief.

The Process

What happens after you apply.

No ghosting. No two-month silence. Here's what to expect — and roughly when.

01

Application Received

Every application lands in Steve's inbox. No bots, no automated screening. You'll get an email confirming receipt within minutes, and a personal response within a few days if it looks like a fit.

02

Video Interview

Five questions, recorded on your own time. Most candidates finish in under 20 minutes. We're looking for precision, hospitality, and judgment — not polish.

03

Live Interview

20-30 minute video call with Steve. This is where we get into specifics: how you approach your craft, how you handle pressure, what you'd do in real event scenarios.

04

Paperwork & Background Check

Independent Contractor Agreement, W-9, SOP acknowledgment, certifications, background check authorization. We'll review every item as you submit it. Target: 7 days to wrap.

05

Shadow Event

You attend a live MileHighCook event to observe — no pay, no service responsibility. Watch the timing, watch the standards, watch how the team moves. Then you're ready to work.

06

Trial Events (Paid)

Three trial events at standard contractor rates. Each one is evaluated against the same rubric we use for every new contractor. Pass three and you're on the active roster.

The craft differs; the bar doesn't.

Application

Tell us about yourself.

Steve personally reviews every application. No bots, no automated rejections. If it looks like a fit he'll reach out within a few days.

0 / 5 photos

Show us your work. Upload up to 5 photos of prior plating executions — your best, most representative dishes. We review every one.

What Happens Next

Steve reviews every application personally.

No form-letter rejections. No ghosting. If it looks like a fit, Steve will reach out within a few days to schedule a brief call. From there: a screening conversation, a trial event, then onboarding and your first paid event under the MileHighCook brand.
