Private Chef in Colorado·A Local Lens

Private Chef in Colorado
one chef and one standard, from the Front Range to the Western Slope

Colorado is not one market, it is three. The Front Range is year-round residential, where dinner parties for 8 to 16 are a near-weekly social pattern rather than a special occasion. The mountain towns run on residencies, where a chef cooks breakfast through dinner for a family staying a week or longer. The Western Slope and the desert towns sit somewhere between the two.

Most private chefs work one of those three. We work all of them, which is the point of hiring us rather than a chef in each town. The same kitchen standard, the same all-inclusive number, the same proposal turnaround, whether the address is in Cherry Hills or a rental above Breckenridge.

Active Colorado markets include Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins on the Front Range. Aspen, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs, Telluride, Crested Butte and Estes Park in the mountains. Grand Junction and the Western Slope. Travel inside Colorado is included in the quote, never billed on top.

One Chef,
Twenty Colorado Markets

We cook in your home, your rental, or your venue. Not in a banquet hall. Menus are designed around what your guests want to eat, sourced from Colorado producers where the season allows, and cooked in the kitchen you are already in. Wine pairings are calibrated to your cellar, or to a mocktail program for alcohol-free menus.

On the Front Range that usually means a dinner party for 8 to 16, a holiday run from Thanksgiving through New Year, or ongoing weekly meal prep. In the mountains it is more often a residency: breakfast through dinner for a family staying a week, with the guest count changing as people come and go.

A 12-guest holiday dinner in Cherry Hills. A ski-week residency above Breckenridge. A wedding in Estes Park. A tasting menu in Aspen. A standing weekly meal prep in Boulder.

Front Range Dinners, Mountain Residencies & Everything Between

01

In-Home Dinner Party

Dinner parties for 8 to 16 in your own kitchen. The dominant format on the Front Range, where Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins households host on a near-weekly rhythm. Recurring monthly arrangements are common.

8-16 Guests
02

Holiday Season Entertaining

November and December are the largest entertaining window of the Colorado year, on the Front Range and in the ski towns at once. Thanksgiving through New Year holiday parties, family hosting weekends, year-end client dinners at home. The kind of recurring holiday-season schedule that benefits from a chef who already knows the cellar and the household.

Nov-Dec Peak
03

Weddings, Milestones & Tasting Menus

Tasting-menu dinners for anniversaries, milestone birthdays and proposals, wedding weekends in Estes Park and the mountain towns, and residential B'nai Mitzvah dinners. Kosher and halal preparation handled internally rather than outsourced.

Every Menu, Custom-Built From Scratch

These are starting points, not packages. Most caterers and private chefs lock you into a small set of pre-built menus. We don't. Every MileHighCook menu is designed around your guests, your venue, your season, and your story. The dishes below are inspirations — what we might build for you.

Wagyu New York
Mountain Steakhouse, Elevated

Wagyu New York

Dry-aged Wagyu, charred allium purée, smoked bone marrow jus, root-vegetable hash.

Hokkaido Scallop Crudo
Coastal · Light · Refined

Day-flown scallop, yuzu-kosho, finger lime, shiso oil. As one example of what's possible with sushi-grade fish flown in for a private dinner.

Black Truffle Risotto
Italian · Indulgent · Seasonal

Carnaroli rice, aged Parmigiano, fresh black truffle shaved tableside (when in season). One direction for an Italian-inspired evening.

Whole-Roasted Cauliflower

Pricing is per event and all inclusive. It covers chef time, all ingredients, prep, cooking, service, and cleanup, and it does not change after the fact. Rates scale with guest count, course count, parallel dietary menus, wine pairing complexity, and specialty asks such as kosher, halal, or dry aged steak. Dinners start at $150 per person. Travel anywhere inside Colorado is built into the quote rather than billed on top, so a Telluride date and a Denver date are quoted the same way.
More than twenty. On the Front Range: Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins. In the mountains: Aspen, Snowmass, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs, Telluride, Crested Butte, Estes Park and Winter Park. On the Western Slope: Grand Junction and the surrounding valley. If your address is in Colorado and not on that list, ask anyway. We usually cover it.
Yes, and that is the reason to hire one chef rather than a different one in each town. Same kitchen standard, same all inclusive number, same 24 hour proposal turnaround, whether the kitchen is in Cherry Hills or a rental above Breckenridge. What changes is the format, not the standard.
The Front Range is year round and residential. Dinner parties for 8 to 16 are a regular social pattern rather than a special occasion, and recurring monthly arrangements are common. The mountain towns run on residencies, where a chef cooks breakfast through dinner for a family staying a week or longer and the guest count shifts as people come and go. Weddings and multi day events happen in both.
Chef time, all ingredients, prep, cooking, plating, professional table service when the group needs staffing, equipment and rentals when needed, travel anywhere in Colorado, and full cleanup of the kitchen. Groceries are billed at cost. One number, given before anything is booked, with nothing added afterward.
Yes. Gluten free, dairy free, nut free, vegan, kosher, halal, anti inflammatory, GLP-1 aware planning, high protein, functional medicine and longevity focused, and complex layered restrictions across one table are all standard. Tell us the restrictions when you inquire and the menu is built around them from the start rather than adapted at the end.
Yes, both, and they are recurring work for us rather than an exception. Kosher residential dinners and Shabbat aligned family hosting are regular categories, particularly on the Front Range. Halal sourcing is arranged through the same supply chains. Tell us your standard of observance and we will match it.
Yes, routinely. Executive home hosting, family office hosting, and the resort markets all bring discretion requirements, and we execute to whatever standard you set. In some mountain markets an NDA is the default rather than the exception.
November and December are the largest entertaining window of the Colorado year, on the Front Range and in the ski towns at once. Thanksgiving family hosting, Hanukkah dinners, December client dinners, multi night Christmas gatherings, and New Year's Eve. Ski season holiday dates are the ones that go first, so mid October is the honest booking deadline for Christmas week.
Common, and we structure it as a standing agreement. A defined cadence, usually one or two evenings a month or a weekly meal prep cycle, a household profile so we can shop ahead, and simplified billing. The benefit is that the chef learns your cellar, your guests, and what your household actually eats, so each round needs less direction than the last.
It comes down to guest count, occasion, where the meal happens, and how much the live cooking matters. Dinners at home almost always lean private chef. Larger events past about fifty guests, weddings, and corporate functions at outside venues usually lean catering. We do both, so the answer is not a sales question. Tell us the event and we will tell you which one fits.
A private chef cooks and serves a specific meal or a run of meals while you are there. A personal chef more often means an ongoing arrangement, typically weekly meal prep stocked in your fridge. Both are the same chef and the same kitchen standard, and plenty of clients use both across a year.
Yes, and celebrations are a large share of what we cook: birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, graduations and showers. For a seated group we run a plated multi course dinner. Past about twenty guests we usually shift to family style or stations so the room stays social. From $150 per person, all inclusive.
Yes. An interactive chef's table dinner where each course is introduced as it lands, a date night dinner for two, or a hands on evening where guests cook part of the meal. These book well as gifts and for milestone occasions, and they work in a home kitchen or a rental.
Send the date, the guest count, the town, and anything you already know through the form on this page. We reply the same day, usually with a short call to scope the menu, and you have a written proposal within 24 hours. The menu is customized until it fits, and your date is held once the proposal is accepted.
