What We Cater

Welcome Dinner to Sunday Brunch

A mountain wedding is a long weekend, not one dinner. Welcome cocktails Friday. Rehearsal dinner. Ceremony reception Saturday. Brunch Sunday. We design a different menu for each meal. Donovan Pavilion in Vail. Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City. Spring Creek Ranch in Jackson Hole. The chef who builds your menu is the chef on-site at the event.

01

Rehearsal Dinner

Multi-course plated dinners at a lodge, a ranch barn, or a private chalet. Family-style at long tables is the crowd favorite. 30 to 80 guests is the sweet spot. Welcome cocktails included.

Friday
02

Ceremony & Reception

Full-service reception catering at your venue. Plated, family-style, or stations. From a 30-person elopement to a 200-guest tent at Donovan Pavilion. Service staff, rentals, and cleanup on one proposal.

Saturday
03

After-Party & Brunch

Late-night food back at the chalet. Sunday brunch on the family compound deck. The team is already on-site. The menus are designed in concert.

Service Style

Plated, Family-Style, or Stations

Plated

Most common for ceremony receptions of 80 to 150. Every guest gets a coursed dinner at the same time. Highest staffing in the room. Sets the pace of the whole reception.

Family-Style

Platters on the table, passed by the guests themselves. The favorite for 30 to 80 guest rehearsal dinners at long tables. Warm, loud, and fast.

Stations

Chef-attended points guests roam between. A carving station. A pasta or green-chile station. A raw bar. Built for cocktail-hour-forward receptions and after-parties.

Past about 120 guests a buffet needs a second line, or the dance floor opens an hour late. We walk through the trade-offs with you. Read stations vs. buffet vs. plated for the full comparison.

Frequently Asked

Wedding Catering FAQ

What couples and planners ask before they book a date.

Wedding catering should land 6 to 12 months out. The marquee summer Saturdays in Vail, Aspen, Park City, and Jackson Hole are often gone 9 to 12 months ahead. Holiday-week dates should land 6 to 9 months ahead. The earlier you start the conversation, the more menu and team flexibility you have. We hold dates with a deposit.
One number covers the chef and culinary team, all ingredients and shopping, prep, cooking, plating, professional service staff (servers and bartenders), equipment and rental needs (plates, glassware, linens when required), and complete post-event cleanup. No hidden fees or surcharges. Gratuity is never required or auto-added. There is no service charge, cake-cutting fee, or plating fee stacked on after the proposal.
For Colorado and Mountain West weddings the bands are $115 to $135 per person for buffet and family-style, $150 to $175 for plated full-service dinners, and $250 to $350+ for multi-course chef's menus. Every number is all-inclusive. Ask every caterer for the all-in number per guest, then compare. Our cost guide covers how the math changes from 12 guests to 200.
A 30-person elopement at a private chalet. A 200-guest tent reception. A 250-guest reception on the Stein Eriksen lawn. In Jackson Hole we run receptions up to 400 at Spring Creek Ranch and Snake River Ranch. Above 200 the lead time stretches, and we sometimes partner with the venue's house team for the largest events. Below 20 guests, our private chef format usually fits better.
All three work. Plated multi-course is most common for ceremony receptions of 80 to 150. Family-style at long tables is increasingly popular for 30 to 80 guest rehearsal dinners. Stations work well for cocktail-hour-forward receptions and after-party formats. Past about 120 guests a buffet needs a second line. We'll walk through the trade-offs with you.
Yes. We work alongside the established planning community in every market, including Bluebird Productions, Calluna Events, and Sara Fried in Vail and Soiree Productions, Le Fete Weddings, and Michelle Leo Events in Park City. If you've already engaged a planner, we coordinate directly with them on logistics, timing, and venue communication. If you don't have one, we can introduce you to planners we trust.
Either way. Most clients book the full wedding weekend with us, rehearsal dinner Friday, reception Saturday, brunch Sunday, because the team is already on-site and the menus benefit from being designed in concert. We also handle individual meals if you've already booked another caterer for the reception.
Yes. Gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, vegan, kosher-style, and complex layered restrictions (gluten plus dairy plus nightshade-free, for example) are standard. We confirm every dietary requirement during the questionnaire phase and design parallel menus when needed. The restricted guest gets a thoughtful meal, not a side-table version of dinner.
No. MileHighCook chefs are stationed locally in each market we serve, so there are no travel fees regardless of your location within our service area. Travel surcharges are never added separately. All distance is built into the all-inclusive proposal.
Send your date, venue, guest count, and any dietary or occasion notes. Within 24 hours you'll get a written all-inclusive proposal. A 50% deposit secures your date. Most bookings finalize in two or three exchanges.
Reschedules are handled case-by-case. Generally: 90+ days out, the full deposit transfers to the new date with no penalty. 30 to 90 days, partial transfer with a re-stocking adjustment. Less than 30 days depends on date availability and ingredient lead time.
Vail Village sits at 8,150 feet. Altitude changes how proteins cook, how baked goods rise, and the timing on multi-course service. Our chef team is trained on altitude-adjusted technique. Every outdoor plan we quote carries an indoor or tented fallback, and the call gets made the morning of, not when the first guests are parking.
