Private Dining in Denver, Colorado·A Local Lens

Private Dining
without the restaurant back room

In most cities, "private dining" means renting a restaurant's side room. You get the house menu, a set time block, and a table near the kitchen door. Denver has good versions of that. It is still someone else's room. The alternative is to keep the dinner where you actually want it, and bring the kitchen to you. That is what we do. Your dining room, your roof deck, your club, your rented venue.

We host private dinners across Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village, Polo Club, Hilltop, Crestmoor Park, the Country Club neighborhood, Observatory Park, Wash Park, the Highlands, and the downtown LoDo, Union Station, and RiNo buildings. Most tables run 8 to 60 guests. Menus are built for your table, not pulled from a package. Kosher and halal preparation are core specialties. Request a custom proposal →

A Chef's Table
Set in Your Own Dining Room

A private dinner runs on its own clock. Guests arrive, and the pace belongs to the room rather than to a restaurant turning tables. We build the menu around your table, shop for it that week, and cook it on site. Courses come out when the conversation is ready for them. The team works the room, clears between courses, and leaves the kitchen the way it was found.

The reasons people book are steady. Milestone birthdays and anniversaries. A dinner for visiting family. Closing a deal without a restaurant listening in. A board or partner dinner that needs to stay private. Holiday hosting in December, which is the busiest stretch of our year. Kosher and halal preparation are handled in house, and dietary needs are designed into the menu rather than worked around at the table.

Sample Inspirations

Every Menu, Custom-Built From Scratch

These are starting points, not packages. Most caterers and private chefs lock you into a small set of pre-built menus. We don't. Every MileHighCook menu is designed around your guests, your venue, your season, and your story. The dishes below are inspirations, not a list to order from.

Wagyu New York
Mountain Steakhouse, Elevated

Wagyu New York

Dry-aged Wagyu, charred allium purée, smoked bone marrow jus, root-vegetable hash. Could be reimagined with seasonal Colorado lamb or 14-day dry-aged ribeye.

Hokkaido Scallop Crudo
Coastal · Light · Refined

Hokkaido Scallop Crudo

Day-flown scallop, yuzu-kosho, finger lime, shiso oil. As one example of what's possible with sushi-grade fish flown in for a private dinner.

Black Truffle Risotto
Italian · Indulgent · Seasonal

Black Truffle Risotto

Carnaroli rice, aged Parmigiano, fresh black truffle shaved tableside (when in season). One direction for an Italian-inspired evening.

Whole-Roasted Cauliflower
Plant-Forward · Vibrant · Seasonal

Whole-Roasted Cauliflower

Heirloom cauliflower, brown butter dukkah, herbed labneh, charred lemon. A vegan-capable centerpiece that holds its own at any table.

Crispy Duck Breast
French Technique · Dramatic Plating

Crispy Duck Breast

Crispy-skin duck, cherry gastrique, parsnip purée, pickled mustard seed. As a starting point for a plated multi-course winter dinner.

Caviar Service
Cocktail Hour · Show-Stopping

Caviar Service

Royal Ossetra, traditional accoutrements, blini, crème fraîche. One of countless ways we can elevate a cocktail hour or welcome reception.

From Inquiry to Unforgettable Event

Submit the form above or call us directly.

Marketplaces send your inquiry to 5 vendors at once.

02

Conversation

A 15-minute call with Chef Steve to understand your event, venue, guests, and vision.

Resort F&B teams typically work through a sales coordinator.

03

Proposal

Within 24 hours: fully detailed, All-Inclusive proposal. Custom-built around your event.

Most catering proposals take 5-10 days to assemble.

04

Lock In

Once approved: structured questionnaire, contract, and (if requested) tasting scheduled.

High-volume operators often skip the questionnaire entirely.

05

Deposit & Schedule

A deposit secures your date. Walkthrough, final menu refinement, and service planning.

Concierge services often add a 20-25% markup.

The MileHighCook Difference

Private Dining, Run by the Chef

Most private dining is sold by a coordinator and cooked from a banquet sheet. Every MileHighCook dinner is built around three principles instead.

One Chef,
Not a Coordinator

Chef Steve plans and runs every event personally. No sales coordinator. No sub-contractor. The person you talk to on day one is the person on-site the night of.

Your Menu,
Not Their Banquet Sheet

Every menu built from scratch around your guests, your venue, your season. No package tiers. No printed banquet kit. No “pick three from column A.” Yours, not ours.

One Number,
Up Front

Full all-inclusive proposal within 24 hours. Chef, ingredients, service staff, equipment, cleanup — one number, no add-ons after the fact.

A seated, multi-course dinner cooked and served in your own space instead of a restaurant. We design the menu with you, shop for it, cook on site, serve each course, and clean up completely. The chef and the service team are ours. The room is yours.
A restaurant private room gives you a version of the house menu, a fixed time block, and a space shared with the rest of the building. Private dining with us puts the kitchen wherever you already want to be. The menu is written for your table, the timing follows your evening, and nobody is waiting to turn the room.
Most private dinners run 8 to 60 guests. Smaller tables of 4 to 6 are welcome. Above roughly 60 we usually move to multiple seatings or a stations format, which is closer to our event catering. Tell us the number and we will say which shape fits.
Most private dinners run $150 to $250 per person, all-inclusive. That covers the chef and culinary team, all ingredients and shopping, prep and cooking, plated service, rentals when the space needs them, and full cleanup. There are no separate travel or service surcharges. Full numbers by headcount are in our catering pricing guide.
Yes. Service staff are part of a plated private dinner. Bartenders can be added and are billed as labor, separately from food. We never sell or mark up alcohol. You either buy it yourselves, or we source it and pass the cost straight through. Wine service works within whatever rules your venue sets.
No. A home kitchen is plenty, and we regularly cook in spaces with far less. For venues, roof decks, and rented rooms with no built kitchen, we bring the equipment we need and build a prep area on site. Send photos of the space during the questionnaire phase and we will confirm what we bring.
Three to eight weeks is typical for a private dinner in Denver. December fills earliest and the best dates are usually gone by early November. Shorter notice is often workable, so ask before assuming a date is out of reach. We are a multi-chef team, so a busy weekend is not a closed one.
Yes. Gluten-free with a full cross-contact protocol, dairy-free, nut-free, vegan, and layered combinations are routine. Kosher and halal preparation are core specialties. We collect every restriction during the questionnaire phase and design parallel courses, so nobody at the table is handed a lesser plate.
Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village, Polo Club, Hilltop, Crestmoor Park, the Country Club neighborhood, Observatory Park, Wash Park, the Highlands, and downtown LoDo, Union Station, and RiNo. Also Aurora, Centennial, Lone Tree, Lakewood, and Boulder. Distance is built into the proposal, never added afterward.
