Sundance Weddings
nature-immersed, artisan sensibility

A Sundance wedding is a different animal than a resort-strip affair — it's intimate, tucked into Provo Canyon under the granite face of Mount Timpanogos, and shaped by the resort's founding ethos of craft, art, and the land. Couples come here for rustic luxury and a genuine farm-to-table sensibility, not spectacle. Welcome dinner in the Tree Room, the storied restaurant hung with Native American art. Ceremony on the Foundry Grill lawn or at a canyon site among the aspens. Reception dinner under the pines, or a top-of-mountain gathering at Bearclaw Cabin after a ski-lift ride up. Aspen-gold fall and long summer evenings are the peak windows; winter ski weddings have their own quiet magic.

MileHighCook caters weddings across Sundance Mountain Resort, Provo Canyon, the North Fork, the Mount Timpanogos corridor, and private cabins toward Heber. We coordinate cleanly with the Sundance events team or your independent Utah planner. Sundance's limited calendar and coveted fall dates typically book 9-12 months out. SLC airport (about 55 minutes) and the Provo/Orem gateway make guest travel easy. Request a custom proposal →

Sample Inspirations

Every Menu, Custom-Built From Scratch

These are starting points, not packages. Most caterers and private chefs lock you into a small set of pre-built menus. We don't. Every MileHighCook menu is designed around your guests, your venue, your season, and your story. The dishes below are inspirations — what we might build for you.

Wagyu New York
Mountain Steakhouse, Elevated

Wagyu New York

Dry-aged Wagyu, charred allium purée, smoked bone marrow jus, root-vegetable hash. Could be reimagined with seasonal Utah lamb or 14-day dry-aged ribeye.

Hokkaido Scallop Crudo
Coastal · Light · Refined

Hokkaido Scallop Crudo

Day-flown scallop, yuzu-kosho, finger lime, shiso oil. As one example of what's possible with sushi-grade fish flown in for a private dinner.

Black Truffle Risotto
Italian · Indulgent · Seasonal

Black Truffle Risotto

Carnaroli rice, aged Parmigiano, fresh black truffle shaved tableside (when in season). One direction for an Italian-inspired evening.

Whole-Roasted Cauliflower
Plant-Forward · Vibrant · Seasonal

Whole-Roasted Cauliflower

Heirloom cauliflower, brown butter dukkah, herbed labneh, charred lemon. A vegan-capable centerpiece that holds its own at any table.

Crispy Duck Breast
French Technique · Dramatic Plating

Crispy Duck Breast

Crispy-skin duck, cherry gastrique, parsnip purée, pickled mustard seed. As a starting point for a plated multi-course canyon dinner.

Caviar Service
Cocktail Hour · Show-Stopping

Caviar Service

Royal Ossetra, traditional accoutrements, blini, crème fraîche. One of countless ways we can elevate a cocktail hour or welcome reception.

How It Works

From Inquiry to Unforgettable Event

01

Inquire

Submit the form above or call us directly.

Marketplaces send your inquiry to 5 vendors at once.

02

Conversation

A 15-minute call with Chef Steve to understand your event, venue, guests, and vision.

Resort F&B teams typically work through a sales coordinator.

03

Within 24 hours: fully detailed, All-Inclusive proposal. Custom-built around your event.

Most catering proposals take 5-10 days to assemble.

04

Lock In

Once approved: structured questionnaire, contract, and (if requested) tasting scheduled.

High-volume operators often skip the questionnaire entirely.

05

Deposit & Schedule

A deposit secures your date. Walkthrough, final menu refinement, and service planning.

Concierge services often add a 20-25% markup.

The MileHighCook Difference

Three Principles, Every Event

While most marketplaces, resort F&B teams, and volume operators rely on coordinators or generic templates, every MileHighCook event is built around three principles.

One Chef. One Owner.
One Standard.

Chef Steve oversees every event personally. Not a coordinator, not a sub-contractor. The person who plans your event is the person responsible for it.

Custom From Scratch

Every menu designed around your guests, venue, season, and event style. No package menus. No locked pricing tiers. Yours, not ours.

All-Inclusive, 24-Hour

Sundance Mountain Resort is an intimate venue with a limited calendar, so the most-coveted summer and fall dates — the aspen-gold weekends in late September and early October especially — typically lock 12-15 months ahead. Peak summer Saturdays in July and August book 9-12 months out. Winter ski weddings and shoulder-season dates should land 9-12 months ahead. The earlier you start the conversation, the more menu and team flexibility you have. We hold dates with a deposit.
Yes — the Tree Room, the Foundry Grill lawn, and the top-of-mountain Bearclaw Cabin are core Sundance wedding settings we cater regularly. We also work throughout Sundance Mountain Resort's outdoor ceremony sites and at private homes and cabins across Provo Canyon and the North Fork. Tell us your venue and we'll confirm logistics.
Our All-Inclusive proposal covers chef and culinary team, all ingredients and shopping, prep, cooking, plating, professional service staff (servers and bartenders), equipment and rental needs (plates, glassware, linens when required), and complete post-event cleanup. No hidden fees or surcharges.
Yes. Whether you're working with the Sundance Mountain Resort events team or an independent Utah wedding planner, we coordinate cleanly with whoever you've engaged. Day-of run-of-show, vendor timing, venue load-in, and dietary roster handoff all happen directly with your planner. If you haven't engaged a planner yet, we can refer based on your venue and event scale.
All three work, and the right answer depends on your venue, guest count, and tone. Family-style at long tables suits the rustic-luxury, farm-to-table sensibility Sundance is built on, and reads beautifully on the Foundry Grill lawn or in the Tree Room. Plated multi-course with wine pairing is common for seated dinners of 40-120. Stations work well for cocktail-hour-forward receptions and top-of-mountain gatherings at Bearclaw Cabin. We'll walk through trade-offs with you.
Yes. Sundance couples tend to care deeply about sourcing and dietary specifics — plant-forward, organic-everything, farm-to-table, Whole30/paleo, keto, gluten-free universal, vegan, kosher, and complex layered restrictions (e.g., gluten + dairy + nightshade-free) are all standard for us. We confirm every dietary requirement during the questionnaire phase and design parallel menus when needed.
Sundance sits near 6,100 ft in Provo Canyon, with the top-of-mountain Bearclaw Cabin considerably higher. Altitude materially changes how proteins cook, how baked goods rise, and timing on multi-course service. Our chef team is trained on altitude-adjusted technique. For outdoor venues like the Foundry Grill lawn and canyon ceremony sites, we plan service timing around afternoon weather windows and canyon temperature swings.
Yes — confidentiality clauses and NDAs are standard for us, particularly for arts-community, entertainment, and family-office weddings drawn to Sundance's privacy. Tell us your standards and we'll execute accordingly.
Yes — the Sundance Summer Theatre and the resort's outdoor concert and author series run through summer, and weddings scheduled around those weekends are an explicit format we cater. Welcome dinners, post-performance late-night receptions, and multi-day wedding weekends that fold a canyon activity in for guests are all logistics we coordinate. Books 9-12 months ahead given the summer demand stack.
We serve Sundance Mountain Resort, Provo Canyon, the North Fork, the Mount Timpanogos corridor, Heber-adjacent settings, and the Orem/Provo gateway, plus broader Wasatch access from Salt Lake City via SLC airport (about 55 minutes). Travel surcharges are never added separately — all distance is built into the All-Inclusive proposal.
