Telluride Catering
for the most festival-driven mountain town in the country

Telluride is the most isolated UHNW resort in the lower 48 — a five-hour drive from Denver or a small airport (TEX) handling more private aviation than commercial volume. The remoteness is the appeal: clientele who want true privacy, often with more hereditary wealth and creative-industry money than tech-driven new wealth. Telluride may be the most festival-driven mountain town in the country: the Bluegrass Festival (mid-late June), Film Festival (Labor Day weekend), Mountainfilm (Memorial Day weekend), Jazz Festival, Blues and Brews, Wine Festival, Ideas Festival, and Original Thinkers each anchor a hosting week with affluent patron audiences and substantial sponsor brand activation.

MileHighCook caters across Mountain Village's See Forever and Sunset Ridge corridors, Telluride town historic district, Wilson Mesa, Hastings Mesa, Lawson Hill, and remote ranch properties in the surrounding valley. From Bluegrass-week brand activation dinners to Film Festival sponsor hosting, conservation patron events tied to Telluride Foundation and Mountainfilm, hedge fund and family-office partner retreats, and destination weddings at Allred's at the top of the gondola or private estates with San Juan Mountain views. Sourcing logistics are the hardest in our footprint — specialty ingredients come via Grand Junction or Durango supply chains, and that expertise is part of what we bring. Request a custom proposal →

Restaurant-Level Catering,
Locavore-Obsessive Sourcing

MileHighCook's Telluride catering covers every detail — from custom menu design and Grand Junction/Durango supply chain logistics to full kitchen execution at Mountain Village ski-in residences and remote ranch estates, professional service staff, equipment rentals when needed, and complete post-event cleanup. Sustainability-focused sourcing is the Telluride ethic explicitly — this is a market where Asian-influenced summer menus, natural-wine programs, and locavore producer relationships matter as much as the protein quality. Mountain Village vendor access often requires timing around gondola hours; we plan that in.

Whether you're hosting a 250-guest Bluegrass Festival sponsor activation, a 60-guest Film Festival distributor dinner at a See Forever residence, a 120-guest destination wedding at Allred's at the top of the gondola, or a 30-guest hedge-fund partner retreat at a Wilson Mesa ranch property, our All-Inclusive approach means one transparent quote with no hidden add-ons. We work in private homes, the Peaks Resort and Madeline Hotel residences, ranch properties, and event venues throughout Telluride and Mountain Village.

Sample Inspirations

Every Menu, Custom-Built From Scratch

These are starting points, not packages. Most caterers and private chefs lock you into a small set of pre-built menus. We don't. Every MileHighCook menu is designed around your guests, your venue, your season, and your story. The dishes below are inspirations — what we might build for you.

Wagyu New York
Mountain Steakhouse, Elevated

Wagyu New York

Dry-aged Wagyu, charred allium purée, smoked bone marrow jus, root-vegetable hash. Could be reimagined with seasonal Colorado lamb or 14-day dry-aged ribeye.

Hokkaido Scallop Crudo
Coastal · Light · Refined

Hokkaido Scallop Crudo

Day-flown scallop, yuzu-kosho, finger lime, shiso oil. As one example of what's possible with sushi-grade fish flown in for a private dinner.

Black Truffle Risotto
Italian · Indulgent · Seasonal

Black Truffle Risotto

Carnaroli rice, aged Parmigiano, fresh black truffle shaved tableside (when in season). One direction for an Italian-inspired evening.

Whole-Roasted Cauliflower
Plant-Forward · Vibrant · Seasonal

Whole-Roasted Cauliflower

Heirloom cauliflower, brown butter dukkah, herbed labneh, charred lemon. A vegan-capable centerpiece that holds its own at any table.

Crispy Duck Breast
French Technique · Dramatic Plating

Crispy Duck Breast

Crispy-skin duck, cherry gastrique, parsnip purée, pickled mustard seed. As a starting point for a plated multi-course winter dinner.

Royal Ossetra, traditional accoutrements, blini, crème fraîche. One of countless ways we can elevate a cocktail hour or welcome reception.

The MileHighCook Difference

Telluride Catering Without the Banquet Sheet

While most marketplaces, resort F&B teams, and volume operators rely on coordinators or printed banquet sheets, every MileHighCook event is built around three principles.

One Chef,
Not a Coordinator

Chef Steve plans and runs every event personally. No sales coordinator. No sub-contractor. The person you talk to on day one is the person on-site the night of.

Your Menu,
Not Their Banquet Sheet

Every menu built from scratch around your guests, your venue, your season. No package tiers. No printed banquet kit. No “pick three from column A.” Yours, not ours.

One Number,
Up Front

Full all-inclusive proposal within 24 hours. Chef, ingredients, service staff, equipment, cleanup — one number, no add-ons after the fact.

Festival weeks book the earliest — Bluegrass Festival (mid-late June) and Film Festival (Labor Day weekend) typically lock 6-12 months out. Summer wedding season similar. Mountainfilm, Jazz, Blues and Brews, and Wine Festival hosting books 4-9 months ahead. Christmas-New Year and Presidents' Week ski residencies book 6-9 months ahead. The earlier you start the conversation, the more flexibility on chef availability, Grand Junction/Durango sourcing, and Mountain Village vendor coordination.
Yes — Mountain Village (See Forever, Sunset Ridge, the Peaks Resort, Madeline Hotel residences) is the bulk of our Telluride work, with Allred's at the top of the gondola a regular wedding and event venue. Mountain Village vendor access is gondola-dependent and requires timing around gondola hours. Box Canyon weather can shut access in winter, which we plan for. The Conference Center and the Peaks Resort handle in-property hosting; private estate catering at the UHNW level is where we operate.
Our All-Inclusive proposal covers chef and culinary team, all ingredients and Grand Junction/Durango supply-chain sourcing, prep, cooking, plating, professional table service (servers, bartenders, attendants), equipment and rental needs (plates, glassware, linens when required), travel into Telluride and across San Miguel County, gondola vendor logistics, and complete post-event cleanup. No hidden fees or surcharges.
Yes — festival-week catering is a defining Telluride category. Bluegrass Festival sponsor activations, Film Festival distributor and patron dinners, Mountainfilm donor events, and after-hours private hosting during festival weeks are all regular work. We coordinate timing, security and access requirements, and sponsor logistics with your activation team or planner. Festival weeks have particularly tight logistics windows given the influx and the gondola schedule.
Yes — confidentiality clauses and NDAs are standard for Telluride work. Film and music industry hosting (Bluegrass, Film Fest, Jazz), hedge fund and family-office offsites, conservation patron events, and entertainment-industry residential client hosting all routinely involve discretion requirements. Tell us your standards and we'll execute accordingly.
Sourcing logistics are the hardest in our entire footprint. Specialty ingredients come via Grand Junction or Durango supply chains rather than the I-70 corridor that serves the Front Range and Vail Valley. We know the producers and distributors that consistently deliver to Telluride; we plan ingredient lead times accordingly; and we maintain locavore relationships with regional Western Slope producers. The Telluride ethic favors locavore explicitly, and we treat sourcing as a deliverable.
Yes. Gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, vegan, plant-forward, performance-aligned, anti-inflammatory, natural-wine-curious, and complex layered restrictions are all standard in Telluride. Sustainability and locavore framing matter to this clientele; we design parallel menus where needed and source within the regional Western Slope producer network when the brief calls for it.
Telluride town sits at 8,750 ft; Mountain Village at 9,500 ft. Altitude materially changes baking and protein cooking, particularly in Mountain Village. Our chef team is trained on altitude-adjusted technique. Box Canyon weather is a real factor — winter access can be reduced when storms close the highway, summer afternoon thunderstorms factor into outdoor event planning. We build weather contingency in for outdoor events and coordinate with planners on shelter logistics.
We serve Telluride town, Mountain Village (including See Forever and Sunset Ridge), Wilson Mesa, Hastings Mesa, Lawson Hill, Aldasoro Ranch, Brown Ranch, and remote ranch properties throughout San Miguel County. Travel and gondola logistics are built into the All-Inclusive proposal — you won't see Telluride access surcharges added separately.
Reschedules are handled case-by-case. Generally: 90+ days out, full deposit transfers to the new date with no penalty. 30-90 days, partial transfer with re-stocking adjustment. Less than 30 days, depends on date availability and ingredient lead time. Festival-week reschedules are particularly tight given the demand window and Grand Junction/Durango sourcing already in motion.
