Wedding Catering in Sedona, Arizona·A Local Lens

Sedona Weddings
are red-rock destination programs

Sedona has become one of Arizona's premier destination wedding markets. Total spend typically runs $250k to $1M+ all-in, and the catering scope is rarely just the reception. A typical Sedona wedding is a 3-5 day program: welcome dinner Friday, rehearsal Saturday morning, ceremony reception Saturday evening at a red-rock-backdrop venue, farewell brunch Sunday. The catering team executes a different concept and menu at each touchpoint, often with a substantial plant-forward component reflecting the Sedona dietary frame.

MileHighCook caters destination weddings at L'Auberge de Sedona, Enchantment Resort, Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village, the Hilton Sedona Resort, Mii Amo, and private estates with red-rock event-deck capacity throughout Seven Canyons, Mystic Hills, Back O' Beyond, and the Boynton Canyon corridor. Tasting-menu plated through 150-guest receptions. Plant-forward and vegan parallel menus are routine, not exceptional. Bar programs calibrated to the cellar already on the property — including Arizona-wine programs from Verde Valley vineyards. Spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) are peak windows. From Welcome Dinner
to Farewell Brunch

MileHighCook's Sedona wedding work is built around the multi-day reality of red-rock destination weddings here. We design a different menu and concept for each touchpoint — cocktail-style welcome dinner Friday at a Boynton Canyon resort residence, family-style rehearsal Saturday at a private estate, plated or station-format ceremony reception Saturday evening with red-rock backdrop, casual farewell brunch Sunday morning. The arc is the work; any caterer can do one good dinner. We coordinate timing, menu pacing, dietary management (especially the Sedona-specific plant-forward and layered-restriction expectations), and bar programming across the full program.

We work with the planner, not around them. Sedona has a strong network of destination wedding planners (Soiree by Souleret, Couture Events Sedona, Sedona Wedding Coordinators, and others active in the market) and we plug into their existing timeline and toolset. If you don't have a planner yet, we can introduce you to teams we trust. Either way, our All-Inclusive proposal covers chef and culinary team, all Verde Valley sourcing, prep, plating, professional table service across welcome through brunch, bar staffing if scope includes beverage, equipment and rental coordination (red-rock-deck setups often need substantial rental scope), travel across Sedona and the Verde Valley, and complete post-event cleanup at every touchpoint.

Spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) peak weddings book 9-15 months out, sometimes earlier for the most-requested L'Auberge and Enchantment dates. Winter weddings book 6-9 months ahead. Summer weddings (the off-peak season) often book 3-6 months ahead with more pricing flexibility. The earlier you start the conversation, the more flexibility you have on chef availability, multi-day programming, venue coordination, and Verde Valley sourcing — and the better the result on dietary planning and menu development.
Yes — these are core Sedona wedding venues and regular work for us. L'Auberge de Sedona has the most established destination-event infrastructure and is the gold standard for Sedona destination events. Enchantment Resort runs a substantial private hosting calendar in the Boynton Canyon corridor. Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village has distinctive courtyard and gallery wedding venues. Each property has different vendor protocols and kitchen logistics — we handle coordination as part of the All-Inclusive proposal.
We integrate with your planner's timeline and toolset. Once you've signed with us, your planner becomes our primary touchpoint for production logistics — we don't go around them to the couple on operational questions. We deliver tastings, menus, BEOs, dietary detail, and bar programming through the planner's preferred process. If you haven't selected a planner yet, we can introduce you to destination wedding planners we trust working in the Sedona market.
Yes — this is a Sedona specialty for us. Plant-forward and vegan wedding menus are far more common in the Sedona market than anywhere else in our footprint. We can design a fully-vegan reception that doesn't read as a compromise to non-vegan guests, or run parallel menus where the room is split. Anti-inflammatory, raw, macrobiotic, and detox-aligned programs are also possible at wedding scale — we've executed yoga-retreat-paired wedding programs where the entire 3-day arc was plant-forward by design.
A common scope: Friday welcome dinner (60-100 guests, often at a Boynton Canyon resort residence or private estate). Saturday morning guided hike or yoga session (Sedona-specific), often paired with a casual breakfast. Saturday rehearsal (30-60 guests, plated, often in a smaller red-rock-view setting). Saturday evening ceremony & reception (80-150 guests, the main event with red-rock backdrop). Sunday farewell brunch (60-120 guests, casual format). We design and execute each touchpoint as its own concept while ensuring no menu or ingredient repetition across the full program.
Chef and culinary team across all touchpoints, all ingredients and Verde Valley sourcing, prep, plating, professional table service (servers, bartenders, attendants) calibrated to scope, bar staffing and program if beverage is in scope, equipment and rental coordination (red-rock-deck setups often need substantial rental scope), travel across Sedona and the Verde Valley, and complete post-event cleanup at every touchpoint. No hidden fees or surcharges. Beverage cost is typically billed pass-through unless you'd prefer we package it.
Yes — this is a defining Sedona competency. Layered restrictions (gluten + dairy + nightshade + tree-nut-free, for example) are routine here. For a 120-guest Sedona reception we'll typically receive 25-50 dietary asks across the full program; we run a dietary-questionnaire phase upfront with the planner and design parallel menus where needed. Allergen handling uses separate prep workflows to prevent cross-contact. Each plate at the reception is tracked to the guest.
Yes — we can run the full bar program including staffing, glassware, ice, mixers, garnishes, and service across cocktail hour through reception. Wine pairings calibrated to the cellar already on the property are standard, including Arizona-wine programs from Verde Valley vineyards (Page Springs, Caduceus, Alcantara, Pillsbury) when the couple wants to feature regional wine. We can also handle a curated cocktail program designed for the couple. Beverage cost is typically billed pass-through unless you'd prefer we package it into a single number.
Sedona outdoor receptions are largely weather-friendly during spring and fall peaks, but afternoon thunderstorms in late summer and surprising winter cold snaps both factor in. We build weather contingency into proposals: indoor backup plans, tent-and-shelter coordination with rentals, timeline flex for ceremonies that move 30 minutes, hot-and-cold service buffer for outdoor receptions running into cooler evening temps. The decision tree gets walked through with the planner before the day.
Yes — intimate red-rock weddings are a real and growing Sedona category. The full multi-day program scales down well: a Friday welcome cocktail, a Saturday plated ceremony dinner with red-rock backdrop, a Sunday brunch — for 20-40 guests rather than 100-150. The same All-Inclusive structure applies. Smaller-scale weddings often have more flexibility in venue choice (private rental estates with red-rock decks become realistic at this scale) and shorter booking windows (4-9 months).
